Arrowmoon District Roundtable
November 8, 2018
Roundtable is a district monthly meeting typically held the second Thursday of every month at 7:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (2815 Welsh Ave, College Station, Texas 77845) to help unit leaders plan and carry out their own program. Roundtable is a form of supplemental training for volunteers. The objective of Roundtable is to give leaders program ideas; information on policy, events, and training opportunities; and an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship with other Scouting leaders. As a result of the roundtable experience, unit leaders will be inspired, motivated, informed, and able to provide a stronger program for their Scouts. Follow us on Facebook.

Rocket Day is an event for kindergarten through first grade boys and girls that gives new Cub Scouts an introduction to Scouting and potential Cub Scouts an opportunity to join. Youth who join Cub Scouts will receive a rocket patch for joining, and if they join they will also receive a rocket that they can design, build, and launch at Rocket Day. All new Cub Scouts in the district, along with their families are invited to Rocket Day to launch rockets given to them for joining. Packs are encouraged to make the event a pack activity by inviting all Cub Scouts and their families to watch the rocket launches, see demonstrations by district Boy Scout troops, have a picnic lunch and even opt to see the Museum of the American GI. All Scouts and families must register at the registration table when entering the museum. Entry to the event is free. The event is being held at Camp Arrowmoon (Camp Arrowmoon Rd, Hearne, TX 77859, Latitude Longitude Address: 30.859591, -96.489712).

Training is an important part of learning to become an effective leader. Trained leaders impact the quality of programs, leader tenure, youth tenure, and a whole lot more. A trained leader is better prepared to make the Scouting program all it can be! Every Scout deserves a trained leader.
